At Wednesday night's training at Ramsden Street Oval, Fitzroy’s Division One Thirds received a surprise visit from former champion Fitzroy rover Leon Harris. 

Leon was a star for Fitzroy in the VFL/AFL. He played 186 games between 1979 and 1989, represented Victoria, and played in the wonderful Roys finals teams in 1979, 1981, 1983, 1984 and 1986, and Leon was runner up Best and Fairest in 1987 for the Roys. 

Leon is a long time friend of our current Director of Coaching Phil Bunn. Phil and Leon spent many years coaching together around the AFL scene. We are very grateful that such a star of Fitzroy and legend of the game of Aussie Rules gave up his precious time to give back to the Roys.

Always a lion at heart, in more recent years Leon has worked in player recruitment for the Brisbane Lions.
